My Watermark.

As requested by my father, i was told to make a watermark for my images, so people cant just take them and claim as their own...
so this morning on arrival to college early i got onto the case, and made a simple one for now, as I'm no pro.. but I'm sure with a little persistance i can make a better one..

so you can faintly see my watermark on this image of my little sister- shes sucha cutie!

The tour of Britain

So today, the T.O.B came through Hadleigh, it was a very exciting morning with lots of people gathering in the streets to cheer along the cyclist, there is also many events going on in the town, a bouncy castle in the kings head, and a beer festival in the George with a hog roast and some fine ciders.. (I tried a few last night). so any way the 1st group of riders came through Hadleigh at about 11:10..

unfortunately due to me gibbering on to much i missed the 2nd group of rider :(  silly me.. but i did get a few picture of some of the tracking cars and police motorbikes that followed them.

Then 6 minutes and 30 seconds later the final group of riders followed, with the spare bikes and ambulances following.

All in all it was a nice morning spent , and i got a few good pictures, and another bonus the Hadleigh People asked me to email some of my shots over, so hopefully that will get me a bit better known.. & hopefully if they are good enough put on their website.. so fingers crossed!
Happy Days

Adobe Illustrator.

if you hadnt guessed this is meant to be a crane..
i created it using adobe illustrator, with the line segment tool and the text tool.. i decided to use words based around constraction/building as i felt it was fitting for the picture. i created this image for something to do in the mornings as ive had some spare time on my hands..
im pretty pleased with the outcome and think that you can just about tell that its a crane, ill deffinatly be using this program in the future to create more images. Id definatly recomend investing in this prgram as it is great to use and easy to get around.
peace out!

Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons
EASYFUN-ETHEREAL
Auto
2001

I chose this image as I really like the cut and paste style of this piece although in fact it is oil painting, Koons has chosen an interesting arrangement of images to keep the viewers attention, by selecting bold colours, and object that stand out. I really like how realist the images looks. I personally feel the 'Bird' stands out, because the other objects painted are all related to humans, yet somehow feels fitting to the work.

Tracy emin

Tracy Emin
Uncle Colin
1993

I choose Tracey Emin, as I am influenced by the way she uses her work to portray emotions to engage the viewer. She also includes her personal life with her work to make a connection with the viewer.

I really like this piece as it is low key and subtle compared to the others but still engages the reader. This piece is about the tragic death of Emin's uncle Colin, who died in a car crash. The piece includes The newspaper article about the crash, Photographs of her uncle, the Cigarette packet he was clutching at the time of the crash and a letter from Emin to her uncle, all framed in simple wooden frames. A seagull features in one of the frames; returning to the idea of a spirit passing from this world to the next.

Clock tower

Bildeston clock tower.
i really like this picture. i took it this morning.. but i feel slightly disappointed, as i feel that it looks a bit unreal, due to the lack of clouds on the right hand side, i tired to clown them in on photoshop but that made it look even more unreal :/ so Ive just left it, i tried not to edit the image to much and just adjusted the colour of it.

Deutsche Zeitung

read all about it.
this is another one of our props for the photo shoot. its meant to be a (battered) newspaper spread
(if you hadn't guessed already)
its written in German.
we struggled a little with this as we couldn't read what it said on the image so, we've jumbled up some German words.. so if your trying to read it and it makes no sense sorry.
so since this it short i think ill just tell all you non-artists a little about the picture we where given..

The pillars of society
George Grosz
1926.

The painting is a sarcastic portrait of the German elite classes who supported fascism. The dark nightmarish colours portray the gentlemen  who controlled the society. The figures are portrayed as selfish and uncaring individuals.

Artist in the making.

creating our identitys.
Yesterday we spent the day creating costumes and backgrounds,
it was a relaxing day which involved lots of painting and quite a few cups of tea.
We tried to make the costumes as close to the orignal as possible..
this mask has been painted due to the shape as we felt it would look better than using
face paints like we will be for the other 'figures'.

unfortunatly my computers playing silly buggers, and wont let me upload another picture, so im gonna have to post another blog. so im gonna keep this short and move on the the next one :)

The Tableau Project

The pillars of society
By George Grosz
1926
so we've been set a task as a group of 6 to recreate this image anyway we like, with just a few guidelines..
1. we cant buy anything.. no spending money at all ..
2. we have to be involoved in the picture.. see the man with the tea cup on his head.. thats me,, pretty fitting considering the amount of tea i drink...
3. it must be life size..

So the above picture is what my group got 'landed' with..

We decided to organise our group and go out hunting for materials etc..
We went in skips and bins, and wondered around town looking for cardboard and well to say the least we have more than plenty..
And as for the material.. we tried every charity shop and they had nothing to give us :(

we're meant to be doctumenting it, but unfortunatly i forgot so i need to take some pictures today and will upload them later...

Happy Blogging :)
