Deutsche Zeitung

read all about it.
this is another one of our props for the photo shoot. its meant to be a (battered) newspaper spread
(if you hadn't guessed already)
its written in German.
we struggled a little with this as we couldn't read what it said on the image so, we've jumbled up some German words.. so if your trying to read it and it makes no sense sorry.
so since this it short i think ill just tell all you non-artists a little about the picture we where given..

The pillars of society
George Grosz
1926.

The painting is a sarcastic portrait of the German elite classes who supported fascism. The dark nightmarish colours portray the gentlemen  who controlled the society. The figures are portrayed as selfish and uncaring individuals.

Artist in the making.

creating our identitys.
Yesterday we spent the day creating costumes and backgrounds,
it was a relaxing day which involved lots of painting and quite a few cups of tea.
We tried to make the costumes as close to the orignal as possible..
this mask has been painted due to the shape as we felt it would look better than using
face paints like we will be for the other 'figures'.

unfortunatly my computers playing silly buggers, and wont let me upload another picture, so im gonna have to post another blog. so im gonna keep this short and move on the the next one :)

The Tableau Project

The pillars of society
By George Grosz
1926
so we've been set a task as a group of 6 to recreate this image anyway we like, with just a few guidelines..
1. we cant buy anything.. no spending money at all ..
2. we have to be involoved in the picture.. see the man with the tea cup on his head.. thats me,, pretty fitting considering the amount of tea i drink...
3. it must be life size..

So the above picture is what my group got 'landed' with..

We decided to organise our group and go out hunting for materials etc..
We went in skips and bins, and wondered around town looking for cardboard and well to say the least we have more than plenty..
And as for the material.. we tried every charity shop and they had nothing to give us :(

we're meant to be doctumenting it, but unfortunatly i forgot so i need to take some pictures today and will upload them later...

Happy Blogging :)

A new college year a new start.

So i promised my friend Daniel i'd posted more now im back to college as ive been a little bleak over the summer....

Yesterday was my 1st day back, and to say the least it was a LOOOOOONG day, firstly i arrived to college at about half 8 but lessons didnt start till half 10.. thank god for friends!!!

A boring yet very informal lecture and meeting people in our new groups.

OHH AND GUESS WHAT! we get to go to amsterdam its only £185.. please make all donations to Chelsey Mitchell :D haha

so i've been hunting around charity shops for the book 'one day' David NichollS, I would buy it band new but i dont really see the point as ill only read it once or twice and then it'll get put on the bookshelf with all the others.
so if you see one laying about for a couple of quid think of me!!
so the computer crashed half way through this thank god for automatic saving!! :D

these computers make me so angry they are rubbish!

this is me ^^

i know it was short and sweet but i havent really done anything to blog about anything just yet,, but tomorrow im sure i will.
happy blogging :)

Im such a let down.

So at 1st this blogging lack was just my life and i posted about 4 times a day! and now im struggling to post once a month :( im soo sorry for all you readers, cause it must be boring waiting for a never coming update..
So i apologise now for being boring! haha

But anyway i have some GREAT news..
two wonderful friends of mine have asked me to be their wedding photographer in November! and im so excited i cant wait.. now this will be my 1st proper paid job and im slightly scared as i dont want to screw up .. but its a job task and i like to think im up for the job, so as of now i'll be praticing my portraits, and will be reading lots of wedding photography manuals! and more than likely sending messages to my dear friend Daniel to get him to ask his father some questions for me! so i apologise now Dan if im a pest :P
So if any of you lovely readers would like some pictures taken or have any handy hints or tips for me i would be very thankful!

well im hoping this is going to give me a little more to blog about!
